Read your property’s cleaning requirements
Review the lease, move-out instructions, and any checklist from the property manager. Note requests for appliances, cabinets, floors, and bathrooms. Share the requirements when asking for an estimate so the proposed cleaning scope can be compared with what your property expects.
Schedule around the movers
An empty home makes surfaces easier to reach. When possible, arrange cleaning after furniture and belongings have been removed and before the final walkthrough. Leave enough time for delays and confirm access, parking, and whether utilities will remain on.
Empty appliances and cabinets
Remove food and personal items from the refrigerator, cupboards, closets, and drawers. Dispose of rubbish according to building rules. Ask in advance about inside-oven and inside-refrigerator work, since move-out requirements and cleaning packages can vary.
Keep cleaning separate from repairs
A clean home does not resolve damage or guarantee a deposit return. Document the property’s condition, handle repairs through the appropriate process, and keep the final cleaning plan clear. The landlord or property manager makes decisions about deductions.
